  Imitating Jesus with a goatee vs Elders

  ok.....ya gotta hear this ......pops, who is 80 + , slightly nacisistic, slight case of alzheimers, and a stubborn good ol man.. decided to grow a pretty nice lookin goatee this week..... elders swooped on him so quick, it was crazy....... pops looked like he was diggin the whole show of testosterone being flung in his face , but he stood his ground and smiled.... when the dust settled, and pops had his say..... he replied......"im imitating jesus, and jehovah "....!!!!.

  omg...the smile on my face, and the one on my dads was priceless......along with the frowns on theirs... thats all....just wanted to share that..

  in view of the recent financial pressures being spun as opportunities to hasten armageddon, i think we should look again at the meaning behind their cultic warning of "all must be ready to obey intructions, whether appearing sound or not".

  by dripping these creepy injunctions into the watchtower study and therefore into the conditioned and receptive mind of the jw, how long will it be before they are able to decree something like this?......

  New light will be shed and the partaking of the emblems will be open to everyone. One and all will be invited to partake of unleavened bread that has been laced with that toxic waste left over from the C.T. Russell days that was found buried out at Watchtower farms a few years ago.

  What makes WT think they can reassign Bethel volunteers to be Regular Pioneers.

  when the gb cuts loose 1600 volunteers, what makes them think they can continue telling them how they will spend their time?

  i've read on many of these threads that the 1600 will be reassigned.

  what, are they still under some sort of contract?.

  When it comes to laying off Bethelites, it sounds a whole lot better and less mean for the Society to say these folks will be out there Pioneering rather than scrambling to get on their feet and figure out what the **** they are going to do to survive.

  Put a nice spin on it so the "friends" can say "Oh...isn't that nice "

  Or maybe the society should put all those soon to be laid off Bethelites to work assembling low cost electronic devices so folks like your Dad can still follow along in the meetings.

  i just read an email from a friend, and she shared some very interesting emails from her friends about information on changes now happening at the bethels around the world.

  That proves it. JW's thrive on being frightened, kept in the dark, having others make all the decisions and being told what to do. It makes them feel extra virtuous and it takes all the responsibility for the future off their shoulders.

  I just called Brooklyn Bethel about construction shut down

  i just called brooklyn bethel service dept.

  they said they had not heard anything about a worldwide shut down of construction.

  i asked if he had heard about london bethel shutting down construction.. he said no that it was a surprise to him.

  Is it just me or does it seem weird that Bethel boy wouldnt know?

  When it comes to layoffs, it may be intentional that the Bethelites are the last to know. Maybe they want to do a bit of spin doctoring and break it to them gently over a series of weeks.

  World Wide Construction comes to a Shuddering Halt - Jehovah's Blessing has Evidently been Suspended!

  the chelmsford project in the uk has already come to a halt and every one has been sent home.

  the bethel family in london is to be cut by several hundred.

  my impression is that most ambitious youngster in the org dream of being involved with the building program.

  It wouldn't surprise me if eventually Kingdom Halls were sold and people were told to meet in private homes in preparation for the Great Tribulation.

  Or have Tele-meetings where the publishers watch the meetings broadcast from Bethel, in their own homes, only meeting together in person for the money making Assemblies, a few times a year.

  You will also find it difficult to get people take on contracts if and when you change your mind and start building again. Trust disappears.

  I have an old friend who was the best man in my wedding and who is now a multi millionaire, X-Elder, Overseer of overseas Assembly Hall Projects and an investigator of pedophile claims in the U.S. He told me that a lot of the materials for his Assembly Hall Builds were supplied by JW vendors and there were many instances of price gouging and fraud discovered.

  His highly skilled service ended when he was disfellowshipped for notifying a congregation that an imprisoned pedophile from his Hall had just been reinstated and was being released from prison. He was specifically told by the society not to say anything but did it anyway and was DF'd. He told me that between the horrendous pedophile cases he investigated (victims committing suicide etc) and the fraud he witnessed on the part of JW's scamming the Society, he's done for good, which is something I never thought I'd see happening, to him.

  "worldwide, there are 115,416 congregations of jehovahs witnesses and 8,201,545 publishers.".

  i don't understand how the borg is facing financial difficulty.

  I believe this is 100% intentional. It will spook the average JW into thinking, "holy shit! we need to fork over even MORE $$$--they're obviously in trouble" when they're actually back stroking in cash like Scrooge MacDuck.

  In my mind, just the opposite could happen. All those having doubts prompted by the recent doctrinal changes or financial grabs or those who view any success the organization experiences, is related to Jehovah's blessing, may begin to smell a rat and feel justified in withholding any financial support until everything is sorted out and explained thoroughly to them.

  Brooklyn Layoffs and Halt to Kingdom Hall construction projects

  a good source just just told me that at morning worship today that the governing body announced that a total of 1600 bethelites will be let get go and not transferred to warwich when the last property is sold in brooklyn and all kingdom hall building projects are on hold for at least a year so that all the focus will be on the preaching work.

  I never understood (even when I was a Bethelite) why they needed soooo many people to run a printing facility.. Most of what went on there was work they created for themselves, They even had in house furniture finishers tailors barbers and they grew all their own food and dairy. It might have made sense back in the C. T. Russell days to do that but it had long since become a very convoluted and time consuming way of getting the urgent message spread. The time and money spent on their lavish methods was astounding but everyone seemed to think it proved how much Jehovah was blessing them.

  It was the same with the assemblies. They had full on meals, including desserts. served on trays and tons of volunteers cooking it and dishing it all up and washing dishes instead of listening to the assembly program.

  I don't understand why this huge complex is being built in upstate New York when printing has become more automated and less in demand. It reminds me of a bunch of spoiled rich kids who have inherited Daddy's business and are about to run it into the ground while they play Monopoly with it. I'm not holding my breath but I won't be surprised if we see things come to a head soon.
